Srinagar In its bid to pitch its concept of self-rule at the centre of the political discourse in the state, the People’s Democratic Party has given its core agenda a song and put it on the YouTube. The 8.58-minute song plays to slow progression of still images of public rallies and mourning scenes leading to the re-opening of Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road during the PDP’s three-year rule from 2002. The song has some provocative lines like “Apni hukumat, apna Governor aur aieen hamara ho, is mein der nahin karna ab aur na koi chara hai (There is no choice {for New Delhi} but to give Kashmir its own government, own governor and its own Constitution).” “We think this is the best way to take our message to the masses,” said PDP president Mehbooba Mufti.
