SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 13 The People's Democratic Party (PDP) today reconstituted its highest decision making body, the political affairs committee, following the recent crisis which threatened to split the party. Interestingly, senior party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Beig has been retained in the committee.

"The reconstitution of the panel shows that Beig has retained the third position in the party," said a PDP leader.

Senior party leader and former minister Ghulam Hassan Mir has also been made a part of the committee. The other members of the panel are Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Mehbooba Mufti, Muzaffar Hussain Beig, Ghulam Hassan Mir, Tariq Hameed Karra, Abdul Aziz Zargar, Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari, Sardar Rangil Singh, Ved Mahajan, Nissar Ahmad Khan and Ramesh Mottan.

The party has also nominated four special invitees to its highest decision making body. They include Mohammad Dillawar Mir, Qazi Mohammad Afzal, Sardar Trilok Singh Bajwa and Tassaduq Hussain.

PDP has also nominated two new general secretaries -- Dhaman Bhasin for the Jammu province and Nizam-ud-Din Bhat for Kashmir province and a political secretary, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain, to the party president.
