Jammu, April 8:  An organisation representing Kashmiri pandits on Tuesday urged the Centre to remain committed to protect the sovereignty of the nation and its commitment to secular vision.

"This is necessary in view of concerted attack on the sovereignty of India made in recently held Pugwash conference in Islamabad and subsequent statements made by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Prime Minister Geelani," Dr Ajay Chrungoo, Chairman of Panun Kashmir said.

The statements by Zardari and Gillani underlining their commitment to separatism and jehad has once again brought to the fore the very fragile nature of peace process between India and Pakistan, he alleged.

In the recent Pugwash conference, concepts of regional Senate/Council for Pak occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Jammu and Kashmir, open advocacy of PF supra state measures and demilitarisation have been deliberated upon, he said.

The issues are aimed at undermining Indian sovereignty, he said.

The ideas were flaunted by a regional political party from Jammu and Kashmir, which is also one of the main coalition partners of the Congress-led government in the state, he said apparently referring to PDP.
