Al-Badr militant arrested

Ahmed Ganai, a resident of Zubgull village, was arrested by troops of 35 Rashtriya Rifles from Muqam in Beerwah area of Badgam district on Tuesday night, a defence spokesman said.

Srinagar, March 26:  An Al-Badr militant was arrested in Badgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, a defence spokesman on Wednesday said.

Ahmed Ganai, a resident of Zubgull village, was arrested by troops of 35 Rashtriya Rifles from Muqam in Beerwah area of Badgam district on Tuesday night, the spokesman said.

He said Ganai was moving in a suspicious manner and was challenged by the troops patrolling the area. However, he tried to get away but was overpowered and caught by the jawans after a brief chase.

Two hand grenades were recovered from the captured militant, the spokesman said adding he was handed over to police for further questioning.
